PRO-10 personnel, along with operatives from National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) Region 12 and police officers from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Units (CIDU) of ARMM and Region 10, Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 10 arrested on May 11, 2013 two (2) suspected Abu Sayaf members at about 4:30 PM in Barangay Fort, Marawi City.
The arrested suspects were identified as TERMIJE AHMAD, also known by the names EMRAN NAPEH and MIDING; and RENEER LOU P. DONGON, also known as ROLY UNTING.
The arrests were made by virtue of two (2) separate Warrants for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention with Ransom penalized under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 7659.
The Warrants of Arrests were docketed in Criminal Case Number 24108 issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 16, 9th Judicial Region, Zamboanga City; and Criminal Case Number (3469) 123182-11 issued by RTC Branch 261, National Capital Judicial Region, Pasig City.
During the arrests, the suspects were in possession of the following recovered items: 29 blasting caps, 5 screw drivers, 7 Nine-volt batteries, 5 Eveready batteries, 1 Samsung notebook, 5 pcs. Handheld radios, 1 CD player, 6 assorted sim packs, 1 Sony digital camera, 1 Smart broadband, 7 IED components, 3 electronic testers, 4 soldering guns, 17 empty 7.62 mm shells, 1 gallon ammonium nitrate mixture, 2 capacitors, and a caliber .45 pistol with 1 magazine and 7 live ammunitions.
Police investigators are also preparing enough evidence against the suspects for their involvement in the IED explosions in Iligan City and near Maxandrea Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
Both suspects are now in custody of PRO-10 Intelligence Division, Camp Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City
